Radio Nepal begins trial transmission from newly set-up FM relay station in Panchthar

Radio Nepal has started a trial transmission from its newly set-up FM relay station at Silauti Danda of Panchthar district.

Radio Nepal, with the goal of expanding its broadcasting coverage through the FM band, began trial transmission from Silauti Danda with the installation of a two-kilowatt capacity transmitter.

Coordinator of the installation team and Radio Nepal’s Deputy Director Ram Pukar Ram said Radio Nepal’s broadcasting could now be accessed in Panchthar and its neighbouring districts in 98 megahertz of its FM band.

With this, the number of Radio Nepal’s FM relay stations has reached 28.

Radio Nepal’s Executive Director Buddhi Bahadur KC said it has been working to ensure its reach to all populations across the country by adding more relay stations as per the fifteenth plan of the government of Nepal.

According to an Economic Survey 2021/22, Radio Nepal’s current broadcasting coverage is 91 per cent of the country’s total population.
