Speaker Sapkota urges Transport Minister to relocate people at risk to safety
Sindhupalchowk: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has drawn the attention of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basanta Kumar Nembang to relocate the people at Tatopani Kodari area at risk of flooding to safety and reduce loss.
The swollen Bhotekoshi River has eroded the area and damaged the Araniko Highway and Liping Bridge. In a telephonic conversation with the Minister, Speaker Sapkota drew his attention to rescue those people at risk, manage their accommodation and open the blocked road at the earliest.
Meanwhile, a team including the Director General of the Department of Roads Arjun Jung Thapa on Saturday inspected the area eroded by the river and landslide.
On the occasion, Thapa said that the blocked road would remain open in some days.
