Arghakhachi bus accident claims 17 lives

Arghakhachi, Nov 27: At least 17 people have been killed in a bus accident that occurred at Sandhikharka of Arghakhachi.

The police said the commuter bus heading to Butwal from Sandhikharka fell some 500 m off the road at Narpani of Arghakhanchi this evening.

Saying death toll might increase, the Police said 15 people have been injured in the accident so far. Police personnel from the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police have been mobilized for the rescue.

Likewise, Three persons were killed and 13 others injured when a tipper skidded off the road and fell approximately 30 meters below the road at Lagradanda of Simkot rural municipality in Humla district this evening. The local people said Drunk-driving caused the accident.
The ill-fated truck carrying rice and other necessities supplied by the Nepal Food Corporation was headed to the district headquarters, Simikot. The injured have been undergoing treatment at Humla District Hospital.
