Communications Minister Baskota urges lawmakers to forward bill designed to regulate advertisement soon
Kathmandu, July 22: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad Baskota has urged lawmakers to forward bill designed to regulate and monitor the advertisement soon.
Answering the questions raised by the lawmakers at the meeting of the Development and Technology Committee of the House of Representatives today, Minister Baskota said that the bill has been forwarded to protect consumer’s rights and manage the advertisement market. Therefore, it should be forwarded as soon as possible.
Minister Baskota further added that at present advertisments are not only a source of information, rather it has expanded into a big market and a huge source of income. Minister Baskota added after the endorsement of the bill the advertisement market of Nepal will expand and get stronger. The bill include the provision of clean feed.
Meanwhile lawmakers Dibyamani Rajbhandari, Sujata Pariyar and Ganesh Kumar Pahadi suggested taking experts’ opinions for consolidating the bill.
