Current fiscal year will herald the beginning of development works: Minister Baskota

Kathmandu, July 17: Communications and Information Technology Minister Gokul Prasad Baskota has said the current fiscal year will mark the inception of development works.

Unveiling the integrated work plan prepared by the ministry and singing the contracts with the chiefs of the subordinate bodies for the execution of works, Minister Baskota said that the current fiscal year by will inaugurate the expedited development works by initiating new projects.

Minister Baskota further said that the government has taken the last fiscal year as a foundation-laying year and now development work will gain pace. Therefore, people do not need to wait to see the progress and return soon.

Meantime, the Minister warned some of the subordinate bodies saying some of the department could not perform well despite repeated reminders ago. Therefore, now on they will be monitored regularly and if they fail to perform as per the expectations, strong actions will be taken.

Today, the Communications and Information Technology Ministry has singed work execution contracts with 14 subordinate bodies including Radio Nepal, Nepal Television, Gorakhapatra, Nepal Telecom, Postal Service, Film Development Board for the current fiscal year.
