Nepal Communist Party Senior Leader Madhav Kumar Nepal meets Sri Lankan leaders

12 July : Nepal Communist Party (NCP)’s senior leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal who is presently on a visit to Sri Lanka held meetings with the top leaders.

Earlier, he reached Sri Lanka to attend a special programme organised by the Communist Party of Sri Lanka as a chief guest. On Thursday, he had a meeting with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe; Speaker Karu Jaya suriya , former President Mahindra Rajapaksa and Chairman of Communist Party of Sri Lanka, Raja Collure, according to NCP leader Bishnu Rijal.

The meeting focused on the discussions on Nepal-Sri Lanka friendly relations, underlining the need for extending the people’s relation between Nepal, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, and Sri Lanka, the Buddhist nation.
