National Assembly continues discussion on Appropriation Bill, 2076

Kathmandu, Jully 2: The meeting of the National Assembly continued the discussion on the Appropriation Bill, 2076 today as well.

Today meeting of the upper house discussed the budget distribution of the Ministry of Forests and Environment, the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizen, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration and the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

Taking part in the deliberations, the lawmakers from the ruling parties said the new budget has given the outline for leading the country towards the path of prosperity while the lawmakers from the opposition bench criticized the budget as impractical.

Nepali Congress lawmakers Badri Prasad Pandey presented a proposal seeking a reduction of Rs 100 of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration budget. Likewise, Mukta Kumari Yadav proposed a reduction of Rs 100 in the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. She accused the government of not ensuring the adequate supply of fertilizer to farmers during the paddy planting season.

Meanwhile, Suman Raj Pyakurel of the Nepal Communist Party said that the budget is implementation-oriented, hence all should thank the government.

 

Earlier today, Economic Bill; Bill to Mobilise National Loan, and Loan and Securities, Bill (23rd amendment)- 2076 BS were tabled in a session of the National Assembly.
