Kathmandu, July 2: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged universities to produce skilled human resources through education that is related to employment, production and needs. Addressing the 20th annual general meeting of Pokhara University in Kathmandu today the PM said the universities should also come with policy, plans and progress in tune with the national policy and plans, and thereby support the goal of prosperity.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also urged the University office-bearers to stop granting affiliation to colleges in a haphazard manner. Also, Chancellor of the University, Prime Minister Oli said hundreds of thousands of people are going abroad to cheap labour markets while the youth with education, skills, and efficiency are not being properly utilized.
Also speaking on the occasion, Minister for Education, Science and Technology and Co-chancellor Giriraj Mani Pokharel urged the universities to not go for unorganized production of human resource, and come up with policies based on the need for human resource and priority to technical education.
