Schools closed to avoid rising temperature in Mahottari district

June 16, Mahottari: Rising temperature has forced the local administration to shut down schools in Mahottari. The number of schools closing down is increasing along with the rise in the mercury since the first week of June.

The Sonam rural municipality has issued a notice, closing down schools until June 21. Rural municipality Chair Raj Kumar Yadav said the intense heat made life difficult of students in schools, with the risk of health complications and that made them to close down the school.  The Manarasisawa and Balawa municipalities have also shut down schools with effect from today.

Other local level governments too have discussed to close down schools for the time being. There are 10 municipalities and five rural municipalities in the district.
