Radio Nepal’s State 2 provincial broadcasting service begins from Bardibas

Bardibas, June 1:  Radio Nepal’s State 2 regional broadcasting service has formally begun from Bardibas today. Comunications Minister Gokul Prasad Banskota and State 2 Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut jointly initiated the regional broadcasting service by extending their best wishes for its success from the studio.

Inaugurating Radio Nepal’s State 2 regional broadcasting service and laying the foundation stone of the regional broadcasting station building at Bardibas of Mahottari district today, Communication Minister Baskota said the federal government would pursue works so that the people would get to experience it by keeping State 2 in high priority.

Minister Banskota said the state and local governments have the assisting role in the initiatives taken by the federal government, adding that works carried out in coordination of the three tiers of government would give quick results. Minister further said Radio Nepal needs to raise voices strongly against poverty, illiteracy and gender-based violence.

Stating that a new governance system of federal democracy has been started in the country, the Communications Minister expressed confidence that the successful implementation of this system would take place under the leadership of State 2.

Similarly, State 2 government chief minister Lalbabu Raut said Radio Nepal’s regional broadcasting station is the common property of all the people of State 2 and vowed to develop it in keeping with the times.

Likewise, Radio Nepal’s executive director Suresh Kumar Karki on the occasion said that the provincial broadcasting sevice would broadcast news in Maithili, Bhojpuri, Magahi and Nepali languages as well as produce and air other programmes from the Bardibas broadcasting station on a daily basis.

He informed that the plan is to extend broadcasting services in seven languages for 18 hours daily in near future by expanding the station’s capacity.

Radio Nepal has started its regional broadcast on 103 Megahertz and 1143 Kilohertz from Bardibas at present. The construction of the Radio Nepal, State 2 regional broadcasting building has started from today itself.  (RSS)
