Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai says the press must ensure transparency and accountability

Biratnagar, April 22: Chief Minister of Province 1, Sherdhan Rai has said that an independent and free press is a must for establishing true democracy and to develop the nation.

Inaugurating the journalist training program organized by Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Minister Rai stressed that the duty of the press is to act as the bridge between government and the public, so the press must ensure transparency and accountability in its actions.

Minister Rai said that many media are misusing its power, so minister Rai urged all the media to follow the journalistic code of conduct.
