President Bhandari to pay state visit to China on April 24

Kathamandu, April 19: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari will make an official visit to China on 24 April 2019 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The Ministry of Foreign Minister has stated in press note that during her stay in China, President Bhandari is scheduled to address the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation to be held in Beijing.   She will also attend the banquet to be hosted by Chinese president Xi Jinping. Meantime, the President will also attend the Opening Ceremony of International Horticultural Exhibition and visit Nepali pavilion there.

Likewise, President will hold delegation level bilateral talks with her Chinese Counterpart XiJinping, which will be followed by a signing ceremony. She will also meet with senior Chinese leaders. The President will also address the joint meeting of business community from Nepal and China in Beijing.On the occasion, the President will also attend the reception to be hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.

On her way to BeijingPresident will visit Xi’an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province in China. While returning she will also visit Lhasa. In both places, she will meet with the provincial leaders.

During her visit the President will be accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Chief Minister of Province No. 3 Dor Mani Paudel, Members of Federal Parliament, high-ranking Government officials, Ambassador of Nepal to China, representatives of private sector and media persons.

The President’s entourage will return home on 2 May 2019.
