EC holds discussion with political parties regarding by-elections
Kathmandu, August 1: Various political parties have suggested that the appropriated time for conducting by-election for fulfilling vacant posts in local, provincial and federal level will be mid-November to mid-December.
Speaking at a program organized by the Election Commission at its central office in the capital today, the political leaders suggested strictly implementing the election code of conducts. The also suggested conducting the election of all the vacant post on the same date.
Speaking after the programme, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said that the suggestions regarding using the electronic electoral system and guaranteeing voting rights of the Nepali citizen abroad have been received from the leaders.
In the program the Chief Election Commissioner Thapaliya brief about the internal preparation for conducting by-election. Till now 50 different posts are vacant in all the levels.
