Late leader Poudel’s last rites performed in Chitwan

Chitwan, June 14: The final rites of the late leader of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and former education minister Dhaniram Poudel were performed in Chitwan today.

His mortal remains were brought to Mugai rivulet along with funeral cortege from Baghauda hospital. Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, leader Bamdev Gautam, spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha among others paid tribute to leader Poudel by draping his with the party’s flag.

His wife Ganga Belbase, daughters Jagriti and Akriti consigned Poudel to fire. Paudel had died after he suffered a cardiac arrest at his residence in Madi municipality this morning and died while being taken to the hospital.

Earlier, the House of Representatives meeting had passed a condolence proposal on the demise of a former government minister and the member of the then Constituent Assembly, Dhaniram Poudel. Poudel passed away at Madi, Chitwan this morning at the age of 53.
