Government honours surveyors who returned scaling the height of the Mount Everest
Kathmandu, May 24: Surveyors who had to Everest Peak for determining its height have been felicitated today.
Minister for Land Management, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation Minister Padma Arayal felicitated the four surveyors amidst a programme oraganized at the ministry today.
She extolled the surveyors saying the attempt to decided the height of Everest in domestic effort itself is historical and the sacrifice, courage and work of the surveyors should be praised.
Meantime, Director General of the land Survey Deparment Prakash Joshi said that after the Gorkha earthquake there have been different speculation about the height of Mt Everest and now the height is being decided mobilizing internal human resources.
The department has also said that the final date will be made public within next six month as there are some technical work are still left despite completion of the survey work.
