Three corridor roads come into operation

Kathmandu, April 18: The Traffic Police has brought three corridor roads into operation in the Kathmandu valley in a bid to facilitating the traffic management.

The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) has opened the Balkumari bridge corridor road, the Gopikrishna bridge corridor road and the Bhatkekopul corridor road into operation in line with the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Management and Pollution Control Action Plan.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Division, Sunil Jung Shah, said traffic has eased in the Kathmandu Valley after big and small vehicles started plying these corridor roads. There has also been a decrease in traffic accidents with the operation of the corridor roads, he added.

The Traffic Police has started works by preparing a three-month action plan in keeping with the commitment made by Inspector General of Police Sarbendra Khanal on April 4 that the Kathmandu Valley would be developed into a model capital.
