Wheelchair-bound Israeli trekkers set to trek Annapurna Circuit

October 21, Kathmandu: A group of sixty Israeli trekkers arrived in Nepal on Wednesday with the goal of trekking around the Annapurna Trail.

The group includes ten wheelchair-bound trekkers. The team left for the Annapurna Circuit trail on Friday.

The Ambassador of Israel to Nepal, Hanan Goder, along with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and the Nepal Tourism Board on Wednesday welcomed the trekkers upon their arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

According to the Israeli Embassy, the delegation hopes to inspire and send out a message that physical challenges should not be a hindrance to trekking the beautiful mountains of Nepal.
