Preparations are underway to hold elections in free and fearless manner: EC Chief Commissioner Tapaliya

Kathmandu: The Election Commission says it is well prepared to hold the upcoming provincial and federal elections on November 20.

Organizing a press conference at the Commission on Friday, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said preparations were being made to hold the elections in a free and fearless manner.

Chief Commissioner Thapaliya said the Commission had sent a letter to the government mentioning that the tenure of members of the House of Representatives and the Province Assembly would expire on the 7th of December.

He added that separate ballot papers and ballot boxes would be managed for the elections of the provincial and federal elections.

The Chief Election Commissioner further said the work of collecting the details of new voters would be closed from Friday.
