Qatar offers $60 million to Lebanese Army

July 1, Kathmandu: At a time Lebanon is suffering from a severe economic crisis, the State of Qatar has announced that it is providing financial support worth $60 million to the Lebanese Army.

Qatar is providing financial aid in line with the directives issued by Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani via Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

According to the Qatar News Agency, the announcement came after Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani made a visit to Lebanon to attend the Arab Foreign Ministers Consultative Meeting.

Last year, Qatar announced 70 tons of food materials every month in aid to the  Lebanese army.
