CAAN not to grant permission for domestic flights in critical weather conditions

Kathmandu: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal( CAAN) has decided not to grant permission to the airline companies to operate domestic flights until flight route weather remains favourable.

A meeting of the authority held on Tuesday agreed to allow airline companies to operate flights if the weather condition en route remains clear in order to mitigate the risk of aviation accidents.

The authority’s decision comes after the Tara Airlines aircraft crashed on Sunday in Mustang killing all 22 people on board.

Spokesperson of CAAN Deo Chandra Lal Karna informed that the meeting also concluded that the Tara Air plane crashed due to bad weather conditions.
