The issue related to the dissolution of the House of Representatives will be heard on Wednesday

Kathmandu, June 8: The constitutional session of the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the case related to the dissolution of the House of Representatives on Wednesday. The hearing was adjourned on Monday after Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JBR was diagnosed with health problems.

There is a constitutional provision for hearing in a constitutional session chaired by the Chief Justice. A constitutional bench comprising Chief Justice Rana, Senior Justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Mira Khadka, Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai was constituted on Sunday and the hearing was adjourned till Monday.

Supreme Court spokesperson Devendra Dhakal said that the hearing was scheduled for Wednesday due to the health problems of Chief Justice Rana.

After the dispute over the composition of the bench, the hearing has not started yet. There have been 30 writ petitions in the dispute. The petitions have demanded to dissolve the House of Representatives on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers on June 22 and declare the mid-term elections on November 12 and November 15 unconstitutional and illegal.
