Covid-19 takes away lives of 23 TU officials including professors

June 1, Kathmandu: A total of 23 professors and officials of Tribhuvan University (TU) have lost their lives due to Covid-19 infection.

Chief of TU Information and Public Relations Division Yogendra Prasad Dahal said that 11 university teachers and 12 officials passed away due to COVID-19.

Associate Professors Kishor Maharjan and Dr Sher Jung Khadka, Assistant Professors Shankar Subedi, Binay Prasain, Dipak Mainali, Nima Sherpa and Umesh Yadav have died due to the virus infection.

Similarly, Teaching Assistants Dharmendra Maharjan and Dol Bahadur Bhandari, part-time faculties Manoj Chaurasiya and Nabin Karn also died of coronavirus infection.

The Public Relations Division of Tribhuwan University has informed a total of 616 university teachers and officials of the TU have tested Covid-19 positive.

Meanwhile, the TU has suspended all the examinations following the outbreak of the second wave of the coronavirus infection.
