Financial assistance over Rs 2.6 million for treatment of child bitten by snake

The Good Samaritans at home and abroad have provided financial assistance amounting to Rs 26,25,203 for the treatment of Bishal Poudel of Taprang in Madi Rural Municipality-6 in Kaski district who was bitten by a snake.

The 13-year-old was bitten by a snake on the night of August 12 while he was sleeping at his house. He was treated at ICU in Paschimanchal Regional Hospital for 42. Thereafter he was referred to Kathmandu-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital where he is currently being treated.
A campaign named ‘Save Bishal Poudel’ was initiated to collect financial aid for the treatment of the boy whose family’s financial condition is learned to be bleak.

The Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) on 20 September had published a news about the boy and how his family was unable to take him to Kathmandu for further treatment owing to their bleak financial condition.

The campaign coordinator Yog Bahadur Chettri (Rabi) shared that the financial aid was collected from Nepalis at home and abroad who wanted to help save Poudel’s life.

Boy’s brother Bijaya Poudel shared that so far Rs 1.2 million has been spent in the treatment of the boy in Pokhara and Kathmandu. Earlier critically injured in a snakebite, the boy lately shows a considerable improvement in his health condition.
