Gandhi’s simple lifestyle more relevant: PM Oli

Kathmandu, Oct. 2: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has pointed out that Mahatma Gandhi’s simple and peaceful lifestyle and Satyagraha has become more relevant at present as well.

Speaking at a programme organised by Nepal-India Friendship Society on the occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Kathmandu today, PM Oli said Gandhi encouraged people to stand up for truth and Gandhi’s strong peaceful thoughts became a strong instrument in freeing India from British colony.

Stating that Gandhi path does not accept the use of arms and ammunition made through the help of science and technology, he stressed on the need  for keeping everyone away from violence and fear.

Likewise, Former President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav said Gandi gave the message of continuous search for peace and humanity in human life, and using it for enhancing humanity.

On the occasion, Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Manjib Singh Puri highlighted on the relevance of Gandi Ideology in Nepal as well, saying Gandi was one of the renounced personalities in human race.
