Japan’s HoR delegation calls on President

Kathmandu, August 30: A visiting delegation from Japan’s House of Representatives led by parliamentarian Inada Tomomi called on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Sheetal Niwas today.

On the occasion, matters related to bilateral ties, mutual interests and concern between the two countries were discussed.

Likewise, the socio-economic and political life of the women of both countries, and the enhancement of their participation in the areas also featured in the discussions in the meeting. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, senior officials from Nepal and Japan governments were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has urged the Japanese Delegation to encourage Japanese investors to invest in Nepal.

In a meeting with the delegation in Kathmandu today, Minister Gyawali said Japanese investors will have a golden opportunity to invest in Nepal’s agriculture, tourism and hydropower sector, assuring an adequate return of their investment. Minister Gyawali also expressed gratitude towards the Japanese government for its continuous support in Nepal’s socio-economic development as well as physical infrastructure development.

On the occasion, the delegation led by Japanese Parliamentarians Tomomi vowed to promote Nepal’s tourism sector and to help to make Nepal Government’s Visit Nepal year 2020 successful.

Praising the re-operation of direct air flight between Nepal and Japan after 12 years, the delegation expressed the belief that the operation of flight to Japan would help promote tourism of both countries.
