Belly Bridge comes into operation after 22 days in Mahottari district

August 4, Mahotari : Belly Bridge constructed at Bhabsi Khola in mahotari of Bardibas under the East-west Highway has come into operation from today.

The road was obstructed after the bridge had collapsed due to the flood on July 8. According to Division Road Office Janakpur, the belly bridge came into operation after it was installed over the Bhabsi River.

There had been difficulties in vehicular movement in the highway when belly bridge installation work had been delayed. Belly Bridge came into operation nearly after 22 days.

According to the chief of Division Road office Janakpur, Binod Kumar Mauwar, Belly Bridge installation, and the operation had been delayed after the technicians had inspected and found some errors and advised to reinstall the bridge.

Chief Mauwar further informed that 50-meter long Belly Bridge has the capacity of 98 ton and they would allow vehicles having 35 ton to pass the bridge at a time.
