Minister Shrestha and Ambassador Al-Hail agree to promote Nepal’s tourism sector (audio report)

August 29, Kathmandu: The Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, and the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Nepal, Yousuf Bin Mohammad Al-Hail, on Monday discussed various aspects of the diplomatic relations between Nepal and Qatar. 

In the meeting held at the Tourism Ministry, they also discussed the possible areas of cooperation between Nepal and Qatar.

Referring to the 46 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Qatar, Minister Shrestha wished that the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries would be further expanded during the coming days. 

The meeting also focused on cooperation between the two countries to promote tourism in Nepal. 

Ambassador Al-Hail said that the Government of Qatar was always ready to promote Nepal’s tourism sector. 

The Minister and the Ambassador agreed to promote Nepal’s tourism during the FIFA World Cup 2022 to be held in Qatar in November. 

They also agreed on making the Nepal-Qatar air service more efficient.

The prospect of Qatar Airways operating international flights from Bhairahawa International Airport was also discussed during the meeting.

After the meeting, the Qatari Ambassador invited Minister Shrestha to visit Qatar.
