Children’s perspectives on healthy lifestyle during and post COVID-19 discussed

Kathmandu: A virtual discussion took place as part of the 3rd Global Nepali Health Conference, UK.

The event was organized on Friday to understand children’s situation from a health perspective during the COVID era.

The objective was to bring Nepali children from different countries into the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) mainstream through theme-based debate and discussion, shared Bimala Sapkota, Regional Youth Coordinator of Americas region and also an advisor to Global Health Committee, NRNA. She had coordinated the event.

In the context of creating a second-generation for NRNA, the children were being gradually exposed to the NRNA events and programmes and encouraged to take part in the networking and discussion events of the global organizations.

Sabhyata Sharma, 11, and Aayusha Aryal, 10, moderated the programme that was participated in by children from different countries. Among the participants were Anoushka Roy, Jayaan Sayed, Reezu Sapkota, Harsh Bhandari, Hriday Bhandari, Marilyn Neupane, Grishma Pokhrel, and Eva Koirala.

Dr Sanjeeb Sapkota, Chairperson of the Global Health Committee, NRNA, and also the US-based epidemiologist, contributed to the event by sharing knowledge about coronavirus, its threat and precautionary safety measures to remain away from the infection.

Likewise, Dr Dilli Bhurtel, the US-based paediatrician specialized in cardiology, also explained how the COVID-19 impacts our vital organs, especially the heart.
