Partial effect of general strike in Kathmandu valley

 February 4, Kathamndu: The general strike called today by Nepal Communist Party’s Dahal Nepal faction has partial effect in the Kathmandu valley.

The Kathmandu metropolitan police circle said the valley is experiencing the normal vehicular movement despite the obstructions created by the demonstrators in some places.

Spokesperson of the metropolitan police circle, Ramesh Basnet said security personnel were easing the vehicular movement.

Spokesperson Basnet said around 60 demonstrators involved in vandalism and obstruction of the vehicular movement have been arrested.

The demonstrators during the strike have set fire on a taxi in Samakhusi and vandalized a passenger bus in Chabahil.
