International Buddhist Unity Conference kicks off in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Nov 23: Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa has said Buddha’s precepts and teachings on education and integrity are still relevant.

Inaugurating the International Buddhist Unity Conference in Kathmandu today, Home Minister Thapa said real peace and self-satisfaction will be attained by internalizing the Buddha education by realizing the Buddha’s message of truth, peace and harmony that protects society from conflict and the scourge of war.

Eighty five foreign monks and nuns including 15 from Sri Lanka, 20 from Thailand, 12 from China, 40 from India, and 50 from Nepal are participating in the conference.
