Nijgadh airport to build in same location: Civil Aviation Minister Bhattarai

September 6, Kathmandu –  Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai  has said that the government will build the Nijgadh International Airport in the same location as suggested by a study relating to the project.

Speaking at an interaction programme organised in the capital city by the Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ) yesterday, Minister Bhattarai said  the airport could not endure the pressure of passengers if the figure of passengers grows at the rate 7.5 percent every year.

He said alternatives to this airport should be sought.

He asserted that Airways were effective means to attract a large number of tourists, and there is a need to increase and expand international airports in the country.
