Jitgadhi Celebration

Rupendehi, April 20: A special ceremony is being organized in Jitgadhi in Rupendehi district on Saturday, commemorating Nepali Army’s victory over the British army in Jitgadhi during the Anglo-Nepal war two hundred and four years ago.

This day is being celebrated to remember the day of Baisakh 7 in 1871  B.S. when Colonel Ujhir Singh Thapa who was stationed in Palpa defeated the British Army in Jitgadhi
