Attention of the government to reduce the damage caused by natural calamities


Kathmandu, June 18: Parliamentarians of the National Assembly have pointed out that natural calamities cause huge loss of human wealth every year and have drawn the attention of the government to reduce the damage by making timely preparations. At the zero hour of today’s meeting of the Assembly, they demanded immediate rescue and relief arrangements for those affected by the natural calamity.

MP Kamala Pant said that natural disasters have increased with the onset of the rainy season and expressed the view that the government should address the issues raised in the House in this regard.

Member of Parliament Durga Gurung claimed that the central government has not given the necessary budget to Karnali and drew the attention of the government to pay attention to the proper arrangement of transportation in Karnali. MP Narayanadatta Mishra informed that there are floods every year in Bhajani, Tikapur and Joshipur Rural Municipality of Kailali and requested the government to pay attention to it in time.

MP Bhuwan Bahadur Sunar informed about the recent jeep accident in Rolpa and suggested that the road should be improved immediately, traffic rules should be strictly followed and drivers should be alerted.

Member of Parliament Suresh Kumar said that everyone should be aware to control corruption and pointed out the need for reform in the political system.
