Chinese Vice Minister Sun pays courtesy call on President Paudel

June 26, Kathmandu: Visiting Chinese Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sun Weidong, paid a courtesy call on President Ramchandra Paudel on Wednesday at the Presidential Palace, Sheetal Niwas.

According to the President’s secretariat, various aspects of bilateral interests, cooperation and relations were discussed during the meeting.

In the meeting, President Paudel said that China had been Nepal’s long-standing development partner and friend and it had always contributed to Nepal’s development efforts.

The President expressed his belief that Nepal would be upgraded from the category of LDC by 2026 and China would continue to provide more support even after that.

He mentioned that Nepal and China share a very harmonious relationship at the people level and mentioned that Chinese and Nepali monks, historical figures like Bhrikuti and artist Araniko, among others have contributed greatly to enriching the people-level relationship and cultural exchange between the two countries.
