Government to accelerate reconstruction and management efforts after recent flood and landslide: Prime Minister

Kathmandu, October 16. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that the government will promptly initiate reconstruction and management efforts with a focus on creating safe integrated settlements in response to the damages caused by recent floods and landslides.

At the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar today, Prime Minister Oli informed that decisions regarding immediate relief, temporary housing, and bridge construction will be made in the upcoming meeting of the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management on Thursday.

Prime Minister Oli noted that various roads connecting Kathmandu had been blocked due to the floods and landslides, but efforts are being made to restore temporary road access more quickly than anticipated.

During the event, which included Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to conduct reconstruction and management within existing budget constraints, stressing the importance of utilizing local resources.
