Govt. will ensure treatment to everyone injured in disasters: Health Minister

Kathmandu: Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, has said anyone injured in the recent disaster would not be deprived of medical treatment, as the government was ready for the treatment.

‘Irrespective of the severity of the injury, the government is ready to provide treatment to all those who suffered and were injured in the disasters that occurred in different places of the country,’ Minister Paudel said while acquiring information about those receiving treatment at National Trauma Centre.

The injured ones would get free treatment, he assured. Minister Paudel reminded the health institutions need to provide service in such dire need. The hospitals could provide the facilities of transportation for those injured critically, he suggested.

Moreover, the Minister shared how pure drinking water could be ensured to the people in the wake of a disaster that could cause disease and epidemic. Discussion with the related ministry was held in this regard, he added.

According to the Minister, the government was planning to organize health caps in the flood-hit areas. Coordination with the local and provincial levels would be built for smooth work.

So far, 24 persons have received treatment at the Trauma Centre, while 13 are discharged after getting treatment. Few of them underwent surgery.
