EC approves local level by-election schedule

Kathmandu: The Election Commission has approved the schedule for the upcoming local-level by-elections.

EC Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Sapkota said the schedule has been approved by including the works to be carried out by the Commission and its subordinate offices in the course of holding the elections in an organised manner.

According to the schedule, the notice for political party registration will be published on September 25 and party registration will take place between September 26 and October 2. The party registration will be approved on October 6.

Meanwhile, the final list of voters will be published on November 11 while the polling stations will be determined, returning officer’s office will be established on November 15. The election program will start on November 17 and the voting itself will take place on December 1.
