Six people fall ill after consuming wasps in Manang

August 3, Kathmandu: Six people in Manang district fell sick after consuming wasps. The incident occurred when a group of labourers working in Koto, Chame Rural Municipality-3, decided to roast and eat the wasps.

The affected individuals were identified as Sete Tamang, Pahalman Thapa, Dal Bahadur Ale, Gunjman Thapa, and Ban Bahadur Ale from Gorkha district, Leela Tamang from Udaypur district, and Prem Bahadur Ghale from Dhading district, as reported by the District Police Office, Manang.

DSP Nabin Kumar Bhandari revealed that all the labourers, aged between 35 and 48 years, are currently receiving treatment at Lamjung District Hospital. They are in an unconscious state as a result of the wasp consumption.

Initially, the victims experienced a bulging sensation in their chest and heart, which later spread throughout their bodies. Medical authorities are closely monitoring their condition to ensure proper care and treatment.
