Two killed due to lightning

Kanchanpur: Two people have died when lightning struck them in Dodhara Chandani Municipality of Kanchanpur today.

The deceased are 34-year-old Yam Bahadur Sunar of Municipality-6 and 28-year-old Hiramati Rana of Laljhadi Rural Municipality-1 in the district, said Umesh Joshi, the Deputy Superintendent at the District Police Office.

Thirty-seven-year-old Jagadish Sunar of Dodhara Chandani Municipality was injured in the incident and is receiving medical treatment at the local Primary Health Centre.

Police said that he was hit by lightning while taking cover under a tree.
