DPM Singh and WB high officials hold meeting

Kathmandu, Sept 16: Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister, Prakash Man Singh and the high officials of the World Bank (WB) held a meeting at the Ministry of Urban Development in Singha Durbar today.

On the occasion, discussions were held on Nepal Urban Governance and Infrastructure Project operated under the Ministry and in collaboration with the WB.

Deputy Prime Minister Singh urged the World Bank for collaborating with the Ministry, as it wanted to do so for the urban development in the Kathmandu Valley. “Let the World Bank work in any project in Kathmandu Valley also this time. Working in the Valley will send a message throughout the country,” he added.

DPM Singh stressed on partnership in managing the Valley’s rivers, developing the Valley as a cultural city and in areas of climate change and infrastructure development.

World Bank’s Operations Manager for Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, Preeti Arora, said that WB is positive on DPM’s proposal to work in new project in the Kathmandu Valley.
