Cricketer Lamichhane feted

Chitwan: The Bharatpur Metropolitan City has honoured the former captain of the National Cricket Team, Sandeep Lamichhane.

Organising a programme today, the metropolis felicitated cricketer Lamchhane with Rs 100,000. Mayor Renu Dahal and Deputy-Mayor Chitra Sen Adhikari jointly honoured Lamichhane.

On the occasion, Mayor Dahal expressed the view that hared that such a type of honour would encourage the sportspersons towards sports, adding the metropolitan city has kept the programme of honouring athletes in priority.

The metropolis has been providing possible support in the sports sector including constructing a stadium, she mentioned. Chairperson of the District Cricket Association, Sudip Piya lauded the role played by the metropolitan city for the development of the sports sector.
