Provision of quality education should be made to prevent foreign students from staying in Nepal.


Kathmandu, June 18: Those concerned have emphasized that quality education should be arranged in Nepal to end the situation of having to go abroad for higher education studies.

This was emphasized by the personalities of the education and political fields participating in the 13th-anniversary ceremony of GP Koirala Memorial College, which was established on 18th June 2069 in memory of Girija Prasad Koirala. He drew the attention of concerned bodies to create quality education and a suitable educational environment to prevent Nepali students from staying in the country.

In the program, Mr. Ram Lamichhane, a member of the Bagmati State Assembly, informed that the preparations for the establishment of Girija Prasad Koirala University have reached the final stage and said that arrangements will be made to end the situation of having to go abroad for studies. Emphasizing that the change of power should be for the people, he pointed out the need to follow the path shown by Ganeshman Singh, Girija Prasad Koirala and other leaders. Lamichhane emphasized that programs like reading, earning, and learning should also be conducted effectively in Nepal.

Tribhuvan University Registrar Prof. Dr. Kedar Prasad Rizal said that Nepali students should be stopped at home and crores of rupees should be used in Nepal. In the program, Bagmati Provincial Assembly member Bina Pokharel Parajuli, Vice Chancellor of National Academy of Medical Sciences (NYMS) Bhupendra Basnet, Vice President of Campus Management Committee Nhuchen Narayan Shrestha, Campus Head Shiv Prasad Adhikari and others said that the college is going to manage the subject by targeting students who are forced to go abroad to study their desired subject.

Undergraduate and postgraduate studies are being taught in the college under the Faculty of Humanities, Management and Education. Professor Rajkumar Dhungana informed Rasas that more than three thousand students are studying in the college.
