Parliamentary hearing of the proposed Election Commissioner Pradhan on June 21


Kathmandu, June 18: The Federal Parliament, Parliamentary Hearing Committee has fixed the agenda for the hearing of Krishnaman Pradhan, who is proposed as the vacant Commissioner of the Election Commission, on June 21.

The meeting held today under the chairmanship of the senior member of the committee, Pashupatishamsher Jabara, fixed the agenda of discussing the complainant against him on the 20th and with the chief on the 21st.

On June 7, it was decided to issue a public notice to inform the general public about the recommendation for the appointment of Advocate Pradhan and to send it to the committee within 10 days if there is a complaint.

On June 2, the Constitutional Council proposed the name of the Chief Election Supervision Expert to the Election Commissioner and sent a letter to the Federal Parliament Secretariat for a parliamentary hearing by the constitutional provisions.

Tarakeshwar Rural Municipality-3 of Nuwakot is the permanent home of Pradhan who is also General Election Supervision Committee (GEOC) and Chairman of Rural Development Foundation. His organization has been cooperating with the Government of Nepal, the Federal Parliament, the Judiciary, civil society and development partners on the issues of election governance, rule of law, human rights and inclusive democracy.
