10th National Congress of CPN (US) begins today

Kathmandu, June 30: The 10th National Congress of CPN (Unified Socialist) is being held here from today. The general convention will run for five days from to elect a 299-member working committee along with 21 office-bearers.


Party Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal is scheduled to inaugurate the convention amidst the participation of senior leaders of various other political parties.

Prime Minister and CPN (MC) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will address the inaugural session of the convention, said CPN (US) leader Somprasad Pandey.


A total of 1.849 delegates from across the country are coming taking part in the convention.

The senior leaders along with the delegates are scheduled to gather at local Bhrikutimandap at 10 o’clock and march towards the convention venue, Nepal Academy convention hall.
