Judges will be appointed on time, says Law Minister


Kathmandu: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Padam Giri has said that the vacancies of judges in the court will be filled on time.

Responding to the queries raised in the discussion on the Appropriation Bill, 2081 in the House of Representatives meeting today, he said the government is serious about filling the vacancies in the courts.

As a member of the Judicial Council, I want to speed up the process of appointment of judges and appoint impartial and competent judges to reduce the caseload in the courts and ensure justice to the citizens,” he said.

Stating that the ministry has made law making a matter of top priority, he said that the ministry has prepared an integrated statement of the priorities of the bills to be submitted to the federal parliament. A total of 117 bills have been prioritized with 63 in priority, 39 under second priority bills and 15 under third priority.

He shared with the House that important bills including the Federal Civil Service Bill and the Education Bill have been registered in the Federal Parliament and the bill needs to be passed by the Parliament soon.
The next meeting of the House of Representatives will be held on June 23.
