Rain-induced disasters claim at least 30 lives across the country, 11 go missing

Kathmandu: Incessant rain since Thursday night has severely disrupted daily life across the country.

According to Nepal Police Central Spokesperson, Daan Bahadur Karki, rain-induced disasters have claimed at least 30 lives. Twenty one people from the Kathmandu Valley are among those dead. At least 11 people have gone missing.

He also reported that most roads have been blocked, causing widespread transportation issues.

Over 180 incidents related to rain-induced disasters have been recorded nationwide.

Nepal Police Central Spokesperson Karki mentioned that the heavy rainfall is hampering rescue and relief efforts. However, authorities are working to restore the affected roads as soon as possible.
