Ample chemical fertilizers assured for winter crops in Madhesh

December 22, Kathmandu: Farmers in Madhesh Province can expect a sufficient supply of chemical fertilizers for their winter crops this year, including wheat, according to the Agricultural Inputs Company Limited, Madhesh Province Regional Office, Birgunj, Parsa.

The necessary quantity of DAP chemical fertilizer has already been dispatched to the districts for wheat farming, and urea fertilizer is expected to arrive soon. As of December 13, a total of 16,023 metric tons of DAP and 19,299 metric tons of urea have been sent to the districts.

Durga Prasad Pandey, Head of the Provincial Office, assured that the farmers’ needs for DAP during wheat sowing and urea during irrigation will be met. He added that around 36,000 metric tons of urea is in the process of arriving.

The office is responsible for supplying chemical fertilizers to all eight districts of Madhes Province, 10 districts of Bagmati Province, and several districts of Gandaki Province, including Tanahun, Lamjung, Gorkha, Kaski, and Parbat. With the current volume of fertilizers, Pandey confirmed that there will be no crisis for wheat farming.
