Three dead; 39 injured in school bus accident

Udayapur: Three persons died and 39 others were injured after a bus plunged at Andheri village of Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-7 in Udayapur district on Saturday.

The bus was carrying the picnickers of Annapurna School of Triyuga Municipality-5 in the district.

According to the District Police Office, Udayapur, the deceased are bus driver Bhikhan Chaudhary, 40, Sandhya Chaudhary, 7, and Bikash Chaudhary, 6.

The accident happened in the afternoon while returning from the picnic spot.  

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hari Nandan Chaudhary said the injured ones are receiving treatment in the District Hospital, Udayapur.

Likewise, critically injured five students have been rushed to Biratnagar for further treatment.
