Mental health becoming sensitive due to stigmatization: Vice President

May 2, Kathmandu: Vice-President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav has said that people with mental health issues are being stigmatized and thus leading to the problem.

At the 20th anniversary program of the Centre for Mental Health and Counseling-Nepal on Sunday, he said that the problem was becoming more sensitive due to the stereotype against people with mental health problems.

The Vice-President said, as the Constitution of Nepal establishes basic health as a fundamental right, the cooperation of the non-governmental sector was necessary for the government’s plan to fulfill it.
