Dengue control campaign: Cleanliness campaign today

Kathmandu: The government has announced a nationwide cleanliness campaign in all government office premises today to prevent the spread of the dengue outbreak.

This decision was made during last evening’s Cabinet meeting, which scheduled the cleanup for 10 a.m. today across all government offices.

According to government spokesperson and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung, the Cabinet approved the health ministry’s proposal to start the campaign.

“The campaign will focus on cleaning potential breeding sites of mosquito, such as stagnant water areas, motor garages, and junk storage, to control the spread of dengue,” he said.

Additionally, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has instructed all subordinate offices to participate in the cleanup.

Health Minister Pradeep Paudel noted that dengue cases are rising in several districts, prompting the government to launch a nationwide “mosquito ‘search and destroy’ campaign at 10 a.m. today.

He urged all stakeholders, including civil servants, security forces, social activists, and the public, to actively participate in dengue control efforts.
